Happy Mother’s Day!
My gift to you is a photo of the Cherry Blossoms from the Sakura Cherry Grove at the University of Guelph Arboretum.
In Japan, cherry blossoms are call Sakura, a special flower for the people and the country. Cherry blossoms (the national flower of Japan) are a symbolic flower of spring, a time of renewal.
The bloom-time is short – I went back to the grove a week later to find the leaves had emerged and the petals all on the ground like snow. This visual reminder emphasizes that life is short and beauty, joy and passion is something to celebrate!
The Japanese gather under the blossoms every spring to reflect on their life and to rejoice the beginning of a new year.
Cherry Blossoms are a symbol of hope and of new beginnings. I wish you a wonderful day as we celebrate Spring on this beautiful Mother’s Day.Tags: Guelph Arboretum, spring flowers
